I have DVD's made by Pinnacle Instant DVD Recorder (IDVDR, also known as Dazzle) each about an hour long of home movies taken from Beta recorder which completely fill the disk. These disks are not supposed to have any copy protection. IMGburn can read these files and write to DVD successfully but DVD's are not viewable on either of my home DVD players. When viewing the write surface of the DVD it is obvious that the original DVD has entire surface burned but the IMGburn DVD's only write on about 70% of the disk.

????? What changes need to be made to make this work??????

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I have been trying to copy these disks for 6 months with no success; many programs won't even read the source DVD. My apologies if the solution actually exists in the forum; I don't even know what question to ask in search.

Is that the original/source 'dazzle' disc that works 100% in the player?

That disc is screwed or at least your drive doesn't appear to be initialising it properly.

The file system info shows it to be a pretty full disc but the drive reports the disc only contains a 1264 sectors worth of data.

If you copy the folders/files from that DVD to your computer using Windows Explorer/My Computer does it work? If it does then try playing the copied content to check if it's all there.

The source disk will play in both of my DVD players; there are no menus and it self starts. I tried twice to build an image directly from the DVD but they both failed. I then tried another technique of copying the disk to HD using DVDSmith and then using IMGBurn to build image from HD and then burn from that image. The result was a disk that appears to be completely burned but it still would not play in my players.

As you can probably tell from log, my computer has G: drive which is cd burner/DVD reader and H: drive which is DVD burner. I have always put source disk in G: and burn to H:.

Below is log file:

UPdate: I have given up trying to duplicate the Dazzle DVD's. Instead I have Dazzle converted the tapes again this time converting to hard drive. IMGBurn has no problem reading these files and generating an .ISO. These will burn to DVD with no problem and they can be duplicated using IMGBurn and probably any other DVD copy program. There must be something wrong with the Dazzle burn to DVD which makes viewable DVD but they can't be copied by any program.
