Thefuss Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Hello, i am new to the whole burning thing, but i know HOW to do this... but for some reason im getting this error message all the time. :::Invalid Adress for write Here is the log, so you dont need to ask. I 17:32:39 ImgBurn Version 2.5.0.0 started! I 17:32:39 Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 3) I 17:32:39 Total Physical Memory: 2
Cynthia Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Hi and welcome to the forum, Thefuss! There seems to be a A117 version of the firmware. http://www.firmwarehq.com/LG/GSA-4120B/files.html 4x is the lowest speed you can burn with. If that also fails - try with a cleaning disc and if that also fails - replace the burner.
Thefuss Posted September 19, 2009 Author Posted September 19, 2009 well, i updated it.. now i get a different error even before it starts. I 18:35:59 ImgBurn Version 2.5.0.0 started! I 18:35:59 Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 3) I 18:35:59 Total Physical Memory: 2
Cynthia Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Sounds as it's time to get a new burner. You might have better luck with the older 2.4x rated Verbatims. I guess your current ones are rated 8x.
Thefuss Posted September 19, 2009 Author Posted September 19, 2009 (edited) dangit, that was what i was afraid of. fine then, ill buy a new one. thanks for the help though. Edited September 19, 2009 by Thefuss
Thefuss Posted September 19, 2009 Author Posted September 19, 2009 sorry for dual post, but do you think this one is OK? http://www.alina.se/Produkt.aspx?r=pl&T2=AD-7240S-0B i know some of it is in swedish, but description is in english.
Cynthia Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 I understand Swedish a little.... I have that one and it seems to be a nice burner. It's SATA conneced and your old one is PATA/IDE. You do have SATA connectors in the computer?
Thefuss Posted September 19, 2009 Author Posted September 19, 2009 im acually not sure,m my computer is a bit of a mayhem inside...yah... better not ask... anyways... this one then? http://www.alina.se/Produkt.aspx?r=pl&T2=SN-S082H%2fBEBE its IDE so should work, yes?
Cynthia Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Tried to find a Pioneer on a web shop in Sweden, but no luck. Another option is to get this Optiarc burner. http://www.prisjakt.nu/produkt.php?p=249949
Thefuss Posted September 19, 2009 Author Posted September 19, 2009 (edited) err its a negative on the SATA... but is it not possible to buy like external ones? i really dont care how it looks i just want it to work -.- http://alina.se/Produkt.aspx?r=pl&T2=SE-S224Q%2fEUBN should work yeah? Cynthia Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Can't say I'm a big fan of later Samsung models. I have a Samsung S223F and that one is a joke.
Thefuss Posted September 19, 2009 Author Posted September 19, 2009 yeah perhaps, but it is one of few i can actually afford, other models are like twice in price... and i cant spend alot on stuff so i really must find the cheapest option... and unfortunately even if samsung is kind of a joke, its the one i can actually buy. but the question remains, will it work? just an USB connection right?
Cynthia Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 If you have USB 2.0 connection it will work to connect it.
Thefuss Posted September 19, 2009 Author Posted September 19, 2009 ya, i have alot of USBs in it atm.. and i just tried some other things except games and it seem DLs just dont work no more -.- so im gonna get a new one. even though its a shitty one, its still a working one.
