Cynthia
Hi and welcome to the forum, Thefuss! There seems to be a A117 version of the firmware. http://www.firmwarehq.com/LG/GSA-4120B/files.html 4x is the lowest speed you can burn with. If that also fails - try with a cleaning disc and if that also fails - replace the burner.
Thefuss
well, i updated it.. now i get a different error even before it starts. I 18:35:59 ImgBurn Version 2.5.0.0 started! Cynthia
Sounds as it's time to get a new burner. You might have better luck with the older 2.4x rated Verbatims. I guess your current ones are rated 8x.

Cynthia
I understand Swedish a little.... I have that one and it seems to be a nice burner. It's SATA conneced and your old one is PATA/IDE. You do have SATA connectors in the computer?

Cynthia
Tried to find a Pioneer on a web shop in Sweden, but no luck. Another option is to get this Optiarc burner. http://www.prisjakt.nu/produkt.php?p=249949

Cynthia
Can't say I'm a big fan of later Samsung models. I have a Samsung S223F and that one is a joke.
Thefuss
yeah perhaps, but it is one of few i can actually afford, other models are like twice in price... and i cant spend alot on stuff so i really must find the cheapest option... and unfortunately even if samsung is kind of a joke, its the one i can actually buy. but the question remains, will it work? just an USB connection right? Cynthia
If you have USB 2.0 connection it will work to connect it.
