4x is the only speed your drive is reporting. That doesn't change by just changing the OS. It's purely a drive/firmware/media combo thing.

in XP system everything works fine. Only vista and seven show 4x speed only. BTW i burned already 4 disc in 4x speed and it runs perfect.

No offence but I don't believe you.

Exact same drive / firmware / media (dye) ?

If it only lists 4x under Vista / 7 then it'll only list 4x under Win 95/98/Me/NT4/2000/XP and any other OS you can get the drive/ImgBurn running in.

Actually i don't recall 2.4x speed listed in XP but i always burn 2.4x and speed wasnt changing during the burn process. In seven its stable only with 4x speed otherwise it growing up to 6-7x.

I shouldn't worry about 4x speed?

No because that's the speed your drive is designed to burn those discs at.
