alexz
Sometimes i have got "Incompatible Medium" error after successful burning. The error occurres after tray cycling before a data verification (see attached log). After aborted operation the recorded media is not readable on the drive used for burning, but another dvd/dvd-rw drives can successfully read this disk. My actions and results: reboot burning with ImgBurn: burning and verification ok, disk is readable burning with ImgBurn: burning is ok, verification can't start, disk is not readable reboot again burning with ImgBurn: burning and verification ok, disk is readable burning with ImgBurn: burning is ok, verification can't start, disk is not readable burning with ImgBurn: burning is ok, verification can't start, disk is not readable burning with Nero: burning and verification ok, disk is readable *) All six disks is from same pack So ImgBurn successfully completes operation only once after each reboot The Nero Burning ROM hasn't this problem. Any suggestions? Cynthia
Hi and welcome to the forum, alexz! Had the same burner before and it started to act the same. The only difference was that it neither could be read in the same burner as it was burned with. Some time after this behaviour the burner broke down totally. The difference with Nero and ImgBurn is that the first one do not reject/insert the disc between burn and verify stage. If you as a test disable that option in the ImgBurn settings (write tab) I'm sure that you'll find that it works between every burn. When I had my problem the status of the disc was not this: Disc Information: Status: Complete If you insert a burned disc and look in the right part of the window. Does it say "Complete"? Drive reinitialization problems? 1. My drive can't read the disc, recorded with ImgBurn, but successfuly reads the disc, recorded with Nero. So it seems the drive is ok. alexz
When I had my problem the status of the disc was not this: Disc Information: Status: Complete If you insert a burned disc and look in the right part of the window. Does it say "Complete"? No. The system doesn't see disc. There is message "Device Not Ready (Incompatible Medium Installed)" at status bar. The right part of the main window contains: PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-110 1.41 (ATA) Current profile: N/A

LIGHTNING UK!
Put one of the Nero burnt discs in the drive when you're in read mode and copy + paste the disc info again please. Your drive has screwed up here, you're just only noticing the issue with the ImgBurn disc. That doesn't mean ImgBurn is actually at fault, I couldn't make a drive burn a disc and then report that error if I tried! I assume you've tried burning at all the 'supported' write speeds? An issue that happens at one won't always happen at another.
