Can I burn 48kHz mp3s as audioCD?

Hi, I've got a number of mp3s I wish to convert/burn as audio CD with ImgBurn. Some are 41kHz sampling rate, which load fine, but the 48kHz ones get rejected. Why is that? Is there a workaround at all? Or, perhaps some other software I could use? Thanks!

What OS are you using?

 

I just tried loading one up in Vista and DirectShow managed to do its job ok.
