The Batman Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 I just read about a guy who was having the same problem as me. When I try to change the write speed when burning a disk, it tells me it's gonna burn at 4x's instead. I'm using Verbatim 2.4x DL disks but i'm guessing my issue is the burner. I have a GSA-H21N. I've downloaded any updates I can find that are relevant, but with no luck. I've already made 5 coasters with these expensive disks and am getting frustrated. I just wanted to get any other ideas before I go shell out more money for a new burner. If it helps any, the rw drive won't read cd's anymore either (a recent development)....man, maybe i do just need to go buy a new one...
Cynthia Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Hi and welcome to the forum, The Batman! Can you post a log from one of those failed burns? You can see in the log the speeds that the combination of burner/firmware supports for that media code you are using. If 4x is the lowest possible, then it's the fact and can't be lower.
