jfail Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 I can't seem to find a simple answer to my question in the guides. I have a folder full of data files/downloads (like 6gb worth) that I want to back up. Can I simply select the folder and burn it Dual layer (on the correct disks of course) and it works DL? Or do I have to do some configurations etc. Not interested (not now at least) in making ISO files etc.
mmalves Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 What do you mean by 'it works DL'? They'll be burned as they are now (you can change their names/etc by using the Advanced Build mode). Leave the Verify option enabled, as that's what ensures the disc was correctly burned.
jfail Posted September 30, 2009 Author Posted September 30, 2009 Thanks for your response. Sorry, bad terminology on my part. I meant to say "Can I simply select the folder and burn it to Dual Layer (on the correct disks of course)." So if I understand you correctly, I simply burn using Imgburn as I always have without any special settings and Imgburn will burn the DL Disks automatically without me changing anything ?
jfail Posted September 30, 2009 Author Posted September 30, 2009 Ok. thanks very much for your help. I am going to order a Plextor DL drive and some Verbatim media from Newegg this evening and just wanted to make sure I have all the bases covered. Thanks again
mmalves Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 From what I've read the newer Plextor burners are rebadged Pioneer or Lite-On burners, so you might save some money by buying those brands directly. The latest burner by Optiarc is also another solid option.
