Cynthia Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Hi and welcome to the forum, keithz! Tried the other available speeds 6x and 8x? Can you see on the package where they were made?
keithz Posted October 7, 2009 Author Posted October 7, 2009 I tried both 8x and 4x.. They are the ones made in Singapore
mmalves Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Try a lens cleaning disc on that burner, and if it doesn't help then you may want to return/exchange those discs or get a new burner
keithz Posted October 7, 2009 Author Posted October 7, 2009 The Memorex's worked fine with no problem, I highly doubt it's the drive.
Cynthia Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 According to this page it's possible to burn those Verbatims. Also seen other burns fail with the same discs. http://www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/Reviews/Sp...9&PageId=32 http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/774692 So I would test the cleaning as in post #4.
keithz Posted October 7, 2009 Author Posted October 7, 2009 Hmm alright.. I mean like i did just burn my last memorex 5 minutes before using the verbatims but ill check it out.
keithz Posted October 8, 2009 Author Posted October 8, 2009 Now my computer just completely freezes when I try to start a burn.
mmalves Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Look for updated drivers for your motherboard's chipset or SATA controller (use SIW to find their brand/model if you don't already know).
