lui007 Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Hello everyone, !! My name is Luis, I am without a doubt a Newbie, and wanted to introduce myself before asking for help. Ive heard great things about this site (especially senior members and mods) and look forward to someday offering my help. !! The problem I have is burning xbox 360 games with ImgBurn. Followed basic instructions and get a: Error "Set L0 Data Zone Capacity Failed! - Reason: No Additional Sense Information" - Ive downloaded latest f/w for my I/O magic DVD A DH20A4P External Drive, but after opening the Firware Flasher, the "Write Flash" box is not highlighted and therefore cannot click on it and install latest f/w. I really dont know what else to do. I Thank you in Advance and appreciate any advice or help in this matter.... mmalves Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 I 19:36:54 Destination Device: [0:0:0] ATAPI DVD A DH20A4P 9P54 (I:) (USB) Are you sure it's I/OMagic? Looks like a Lite On burner to me. Have you tried that burner on another computer? That error seems like an incompatibility between your computer's USB chipset and the enclosure's USB chipset. Also please post your Filter Driver Load Order (look in ImgBurn's Tools menu). The firmware you're trying to flash is this one? Could you try the firmware update using another computer? As a last resort I guess you could take the drive out of the external enclosure and plug it into a desktop computer to apply the update.

Well as far as the Manufacturer is concerned, "I/O Magic" is whats printed on hard shell, (I also have my doubts) but when i downloaded the f/w from codeguys.rpc1.org, i found it as a Lite-on optical drive, so i really dont know what to think. As for the burning on other pcs, Ive burned (on this pc and my laptop) cds, dvd movies, and even xbox (first console) iso games many times, just now had a problem with x360 games. And yesterday i tried updating f/w via another computer, but same problem occurs, the Firmware Flasher box that says, "write flash", does not highlight, and cannot click on it. So I will take your advice and open the drive to connect it to my pc, and try to update. Just a quick question though, Is this "Error" a connectivity and/or incompatibility problem? Because like i mentioned earlier, ive been able to burn many times, just never xbox 360 games......will wait for advice....Thank you Mmalves, I appreciate the help and your patience..... Is the drive connected to an USB port at the back of the computer or on the front? Is it connected to an USB hub? Have you tried another USB cable? The most likely reason that it hasn't failed before is that it's erroring out on the very step where DVD+R DL media is different than others: setting the layerbreak position.

Well you were right Mmalves!! Problem was a Connectivity Issue. Heres what happened. I took your original advice and opened up the External drive to connect it to my PC. Well as soon as i did that, i saw that it was indeed a Light-On drive (as you originally suspected) and the Firmware Flasher recognized the drive and was able to flash right away. Second, I opened ImgBurn, and was able to change the book type by choosing "Light-On" drive manufacturer and then selecting DVD-Rom, and immediately displayed "Success" upon changing, instead of the Error "no sense information" displayed when hooking up via USB. Adjusted burn speed, number of copies, etc. and 25 minutes later was playing on my console with a BIG Smile....So, Problem solved!! I personally didnt know of such a problem. You say this is common? Could it be something wrong with the USB "adaptor" on External Drive? Not fitted for all PCs to recognize? But only happens with Dual Layer correct? So...my next move is to permanently leave it inside my PC...and not deal with the problem again....Live and Learn, I suppose. To all of you having problems with Double-Layer Burning, I cant emphasize enough, READ THESE FORUMS!! You will find your solution. And many, many Thanks to Mmalves, who helped along the way, I really appreciate the advice and patience. Two thumbs up to you!!....See you around here!!
