need help imgburn freezes whilst burning

ok first my specs:

amd athlon 4600+ dual core processer 2.4Ghz

 

2GB RAM

 

Optirac DVD RW AD-5170A DUAL LAYER BURNER

 

PNY 9600GT 1 GB (JUST IN CASE)

 

AND IM USING VERBATIM DVD+R DL 8x

 

i got my discs today burnt 1 game perfectly using imgburn then tried again 67% into burning the writing just drops to 0kb\s

the timer kept goin up and it didnt work. then i tried to terminate it it would'nt work i also could'nt start up anything else like firefox, ccleaner etc

it look as if its about to start up but nothing comes up. i try to shutdown or restart my pc nothing happens ive wasted 4 discs now trying different speeds and

stuff but all ends the same not just on 67% though one done it on 2% and 32% PLZ HELP

You didn't say which version of Windows you're using. Have you installed these drivers?

I'VE INSTALLED THE DRIVERS IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I CAN DO I CANT RISK WASTING ANOTHER DISK YET
