carsonosrac Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Hey everyone, I'm a noob so take it easy on me. I am having trouble reading (ripping) xbox 360 games. These games that i am trying to read the image from are all Verbatim DVD+R DLs. I have successfully read and written 2 games which I have proceeded to test in the xbox. But several other games are giving me trouble as I approach 50% complete. It looks like it is having trouble reading the second layer. I have attached the log and screenshot. I am using Optiarc DVD RW AD-7560A with the latest firmware (D803). I plan to burn to Verbatim DVD+R DLs but that is irrelevant since I can't copy the image off of the original. Can some one please help? Any advice for a noobie would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ImgBurn.log
mmalves Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Try reading those discs with other drives and you might be able to copy them.
carsonosrac Posted October 12, 2009 Author Posted October 12, 2009 Try reading those discs with other drives and you might be able to copy them. I don't have access to additional drives. Any other trouubleshooting tips? Thanks.
mmalves Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Well then pretty much all you can do is clean the disc, clean the drive or buy the game
carsonosrac Posted October 13, 2009 Author Posted October 13, 2009 Thanks for your help. The disc is probably the problem since it is not in the most pristine condition. That explains why only some games are giving me trouble.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Have you tried cleaning/repairing it? Those skip dr. products are pretty cool! I got one of their super deluxe repair ones myself the other week
carsonosrac Posted October 13, 2009 Author Posted October 13, 2009 Any recommendations on a disc repair kit? I see a few poorly reviewed ones online. Have you had any experience buffing out scratches with automobile scratch removers? Thanks in advance.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 My recommendation was for the 'Skip Dr.' one! This is the exact model I got a few weeks ago: http://www.digitalinnovations.com/fix-scratched-discs/skipdr-premier-disc-repair-system.html
spinningwheel Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 Have you had any experience buffing out scratches with automobile scratch removers? I don't have a repair kit, but I have had exceptional good luck using Turtle Wax liquid car polish and a clean, dry, soft cloth. Use it just like you were doing a spit shine, small circles over the scratched areas until the scratch is either gone or polished to a faint mark on the media. Follow up with a clean, soft, dry cloth and buff to a shine.
