Failed to Write Sectors 34848 - 34879 - Reason: Unknown

Hello people, I'm very desperate searching for a solution for my problem.

I've got a Sony VAIO FW21Z with a Matshita BD-MLT UJ230AS updated with the 1.1 firmware version (the latest from Sony web). I recently burnt 2 of my Xbox360's backups with a normal Verbatim DL disc, but the last 3-4 discs I've burnt fails after the beggining of the writing process.

Sorry but I have tested changing the discs with another type like Single Layer and it's working fine! I can't understand that I've burnt a very very small amount of media with this burner and I can't suppose that it's the burner that is broken. The most rare thing is that I've burnt actually before this error 2 backups of my games and now is not working.

Here you are the log if you can help me:

Anything you can suggest will be much appreciated! Thank you very much for this incredible program Imgburn from Spain!

Thanks a lot,

Gonzo345.

Try a new spindle of Verbatims (the ones made in Singapore if possible) or even just cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc.

OH MY GOD I SUMMONED THE FUCKING GOD!

Thanks for replying! Curiously, I'm using Verbatim Singapore! Another problem BEFORE this problem was "error focusing media" or something like that. So curious! I'll try cleaning the lens with some alcohol but this is so strange.

LIGHTNING UK, thank you very very much and much appreciated for all your patience. Congratulations for your program.

You have several spindles there so trying a disc from each should be enough - assuming the whole batch wasn't duff ;)

Hopefully the cleaning disc will help too.

After that you could try the 8x Verbs (MKM-003-00).

If all else fails, pick up a decent external burner (full/normal size because the slim ones are rubbish in comparison).

That's what he said.

I'll try it but everyone on the internet always recomended me burning the Xbox360's backups at the minimum speed, but I'll try it at 8x as you have said :)

Thank you for all and once again, thank you for creating this awesome burning software!

I think you misunderstood me.

You can't burn THOSE Verbatims at 8x, they're the 2.4x ones that use the MKM-001-00 dye.

You'd need to buy the 8x Verbatims that use the MKM-003-00 dye. Even then I expect your drive would only burn them at 2.4x or 4x because slimline ones are limited like that.

Burning slower doesn't always mean better. What you need to do is to find the best speed for your drive/firmware/media combo.

The supported write speeds for your drive/firmware/media combo are shown in the disc info text on the right when you're in Write mode.

Finally is working! I tried using another writer and it works and tried another speed and is working now! Good news! Fuf, thank you very much and thank you again for this awesome program.

All the best, Gonzo345.
