LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 You got a bad burn - probably because your drive is 100 years old now. What media were you using? If I were you I'd probably convert it to a 2500/2510 model. Take a look here - http://club.cdfreaks.com/f86/need-firmware-nec-nd-2100ad-dvd-rw-122781/
trophy91 Posted October 14, 2009 Author Posted October 14, 2009 (edited) Thanks Lighting UK, Your right it is about 5 or 6 years old but I did update the firmware recently to 106F. But I think I will take your advice and convert it to 2500/2510 model. Edited October 14, 2009 by trophy91
LOCOENG Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 Better yet, drop about $32 and get a new burner.... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827118030
mmalves Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 I 19:27:21 Average Write Rate: 2,447 KB/s (1.8x) - Maximum Write Rate: 2,617 KB/s (1.9x) What's the source drive for those files? Is it an internal or external HD or network drive? It also looks like your burner is in PIO mode (look in the FAQ thread).
trophy91 Posted October 14, 2009 Author Posted October 14, 2009 (edited) The source of the files is an external drive, (Western Digtal). I checked the FAQ thread as you suggested and Primary IDE Channel properties show the following Transfer Mode- DMA if available Current Transfere Mode- PIO Mode In the Transfer mode setting I have the option to change it from DMA if available to PIO but in the Current transfer mode setting there is no option to change it. LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 Go for the controller uninstall then as per the FAQ.
mmalves Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 Check your external drive for fragmentation and defragment it if needed. Also, in order to prevent buffer underruns, avoid using it while burning
