WOW Originality Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 I just want to know if i can burn dual layer dvd which can work on normal dvd player using Optiarc rw ad-7560a drive? I read about changing book type but unfortunately i m not able to do that for some reason. I tried to change booktype in imgburn, but it gives me an error "invalid command code" however, i tried selecting Nu Tech tab in the imgburn and i get "success" for changing booktype from DVD +R DL to DVD Rom but when i go back to the "Device" tab under the "write files/folders to disc", the booktype is not changed. and i cannot burn the dvd too, it gives some error in the middle of writting. i have spoiled many dual layer dvds to get this working. any help on this would be highly apriciated. thanks in anticipation. -Vipul
mmalves Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 That burner should booktype DVD+R DL media to DVD-ROM by itself, so you don't need to worry about that. Post the log of the most recent failed burn (look in ImgBurn's Help menu).

LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 Try 2.4x for the write speed, 8x doesn't exist and 4x is what failed in the log above. Try cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc. Failing that, read this: http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000 The other option is to buy a new drive that support the 'RITEK-S04-66' dye properly.
