axelrose Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 VERIFY seems to add like 7 minutes of time to copying. Is it safe/ok to turn OFF Verify when copying files/folders from my Hard Drive to a DVD-R Disc? I want to shave some time, these copying things take upwards of 11-13 minutes, should take 3-6 minutes. Anyone? Please help me, please.
mmalves Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 The verify tells you if the burn was good or not, so turning it off isn't safe in any way. Now if you don't care about the readability of the data on the disc then you can turn it off

Now if you don't care about the readability of the data on the disc then you can turn it off Ok but then that sucks for me. I was looking for time savings. Are there any setting on IMGBURN that will Decrease time needed to copy from hard drive to a dvd-r? Anything at all, even if it only saves 30 seconds...I am so upset when things take 8 or 15 minutes, that is not even as fast as advertised for the dvd drive. help I'm not joking around or exaggerating , I'm close to psychosis or lose my mind over these excessive times it takes to copy just files to the dvd drive, please help me.

axelrose Posted October 25, 2009 Author Posted October 25, 2009 Time and speeds looks right. Only issue in the log is that the clown is missing his thumbs. So can anything be done to improve speed? I need to burn cd/dvd's at something less than 10 minutes. What was the thumbs and clown comment regarding? thanks.

The burning part will be faster, but the verify part will remain more or less the same. Not all discs support 24x writing. Perhaps you will gain around 15-20 seconds with such a drive compared to the one you have now.

Glad I know this now... it's so hard to get straight answers online these days . thanks.
