Anthem_Nick Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Hey everyone. I'm using a Toshiba SDL-902A to burn to Verbatim HD-DVD D/L discs. I did a test burn a week ago with an 8.7 GB Dual Layer Image and Image burn detected and wrote the data fine, it even offered to put all the data on one layer for me, which I refused since Dual Layer burning was what I was testing. Now I'm trying to burn a 22GB .iso Dual layer with the same device, on the same machine with the same media and I'm getting the E 16:42:48 Failed to Reserve Track! - Reason: No More Track Reservations Allowed -- Error that usually a result of bad blank media. LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 I'll be honest with you, I've never witten a single HD DVD disc. I don't even have the equipment for it. It's a dead format now so I'm not going to buy a drive that can do it either (if I could even find one in the first place).
Anthem_Nick Posted October 22, 2009 Author Posted October 22, 2009 I'll be honest with you, I've never witten a single HD DVD disc. I don't even have the equipment for it. It's a dead format now so I'm not going to buy a drive that can do it either (if I could even find one in the first place). Through a little experimentation I've determined that the burner I have (for either Hardware or Firmware reasons) refuses to write the second layer. When I burn a project under 15GB it's fine.IMG burn is the only software I've found that will even recognize the book type for my images so I'm just going to be glad for the capability I have. This should be my last HDDVD authoring project, and possibly the last commercial HD-DVD movie ever released. Wish me luck. -- Nick
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 I'm wondering if you're just not supposed to attempt to reserve the track when burning to HD DVD-R DL media? (and when I say 'you're', I'm actually talking about me/ImgBurn) I don't recall, are you given the option to 'Ignore' (a.k.a. 'Continue') the error when it pops up?
