The system returned this notice: ImgBurn.exe - Application Error The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click OK to terminate the application Any suggestion ?! Thanks

Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Some other bit of software you've installed is blocking it - could be your A/V program, anti spyware/malware etc. It could even be a virus that's infecting exe files on your PC and then preventing ImgBurn from running because it's corrupted the file. You can normally get around the issue by decompressing the exe - it's compressed by UPX.

Before 2.5.0.0, I used ImgBurn v2.4.2.0. together with Kaspersky Internet Security (which can scan easily any .exe UPX packed) and everything worked OK. Your application is nice and very efficient (better than more trials). Now I can't run even 2.4.2.0 version (after clean system reinstall). I still work to fix the problem and any suggestion is welcomed. Ronnie

So whilst a program might cope with the 'default' variation, it doesn't mean it'll cope with the others all that well. If a clean install a re-download of 2.5.0.0 doesn't work then you have deeper issues it would seem. You should try ImgBurn before you install anything else - besides essential drivers that is. Have you tried running memtest for a few hours? When you did the clean install, did you wipe the hdd properly first? I recommend wiping it (zero fill) using something like the Hiren's Boot CD. That should help wipe out any MBR virus type things that can survive a basic format. Did you try un-upx'ing ImgBurn.exe?

I won't stop using UPX to compress the exe so there's a chance some of the future versions will also fail to run on your machine. btw, don't continue to use 2.4.2.0, 2.5.0.0 exists for a reason!

It's not Kaspersky (I fragmented the ImgBurn.exe running with Kaspersky only to see where is the problem) I run other applications packed by UPX and all are recognized and accepted by Kaspersky I use UPX, too I installed the 2.5.0.0, I unpacked the programs and it's OK now Maybe the next Microsoft updates will make all UPXed programs compatible Thank you for help
