IrnBruBoy Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 I have an old machine (Win98 SE) that I am trying to get data off. I have used ImgBurn to get several files off the system already without any issues. Then on the last files I needed to get off everything went awry (how typical is that!!) - anyway.... So I get an error message when I try to burn the .iso file to the CD Rom. Failed to send Cue Sheet Reason: Current Program Area is Not Empty I un-installed the imgburn program and re-installed it, re-booted the machine and still got no joy. That is about the limit of my expertise.... Any help would be greatly appreciated as I really need to get these files of the PC. Thanks Jim

LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Almost... I want the whole thing (notice the window scrolls up and down). Just 'Select All' via the Edit menu (or context menu), then copy + paste it again.

LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 It would appear you've already written to that disc, use a new one.
IrnBruBoy Posted October 23, 2009 Author Posted October 23, 2009 But it isn't.... I put it in another machine and it pops up and says Blank CD, what do you want to do. These are brand new straight out of the box.....
IrnBruBoy Posted October 23, 2009 Author Posted October 23, 2009 Hummmmm..... See this is why Computers infuriate me, the CD I was using was new, I actually went and wrote some thing on it on another machine. It worked fine in there and I burned a whole bunch of random files to it. For reference it was a RadioShack CD, I got another new one I had, a Verbatim and it seems to be working?? Why would that be?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Are you sure it was blank only the 'Destination Media Sectors' value is wrong? Maybe your drive just doesn't like those discs very much. The firmware needs to support them for them to work properly and maybe it doesn't.
IrnBruBoy Posted October 24, 2009 Author Posted October 24, 2009 Its a really old machine, I couldn't even find the manufacturer of the drive anymore, let alone firmware So maybe it was just that. Thank you very much though for the help, and very, very quick response. It is so nice to use a forum that does respond that quickly, it is muchly appreciated.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 LiteOn is easy to find - http://www.liteonit.com That doesn't mean there will actually be any updates for your model though.
