Problem with ImgBurn 2.4.3.0 & Lite-On USB DVD+RW Drive: Medium Not Present

I need help with this. I'm trying to burn an ISO onto a Maxell DVD-R using a Lite-On DVD+RW SOHW-1693S external USB drive. Whenever I place the disc in, it reads on the PC itself, but the ImgBurn fails to scan it and reads as Medium Not Present. No luck with 2.5, and I've done a ton of things. I've installed ASPI to my main DVD-ROM drive (which I learned only burned CD-R) and I plugged this USB drive thinking it would work, but no luck. There's not much on the log, but here it is anyway.

I 21:10:05 Initialising ASAPI...

E 21:10:05 Unable to initialise ASAPI! - ASAPI.DLL

E 21:10:05 Reason: The specified module could not be found.

E 21:10:05 You need to install an ASAPI manager.

E 21:10:05 Visit http://www.imgburn.com to download one.

E 21:10:05 Alternatively, try changing the 'I/O Interface' in the Settings to a different one.

Quick note, the Lite-On is read as SPTI, and the BD-ROM/HD DVD-ROM is actually a virtual ISO mounter from DAEMON Tools. Any fixes to my Medium Not Present situation would be great. Thanks.

Hi and welcome to the forum, mapleawesome12! :)

Switch back to SPTI.

If you switch to read mode in ImgBurn - can you post the disc info of the right side of the program window? (if you can load the disc)

Why would you use a version that's known to be buggy? Put 2.5.0.0 back on.

If the drive won't recognise the disc you're putting in it then it probably doesn't support it.

Try some other discs (originals and ones you've already burnt, both CD and DVD). Do any of those work?

If not, your drive has probably broken.

Coincidentally, 2.5 also didn't work and my drive wouldn't work when i was running Vista (as per a lot of other things that wouldn't work due to Vista)

Anyway, I've tested a SONY CD-R which worked perfectly and did complete playback (Sweet tunes BTW) And unfortunately my Sony DVD-R of Powerpuff Girls Z (don't ask) won't work. I think the reader has lost detection of DVD. No Auto-Play, nothing in the Drive through My Computer. This isn't right....
