ok, created an iso of the BBC TV series 'State of Play'

When I play this in my Western Digital Media player the episodes are out of order

How do I therefore ensure the iso has them in the correct order?

Thanks

You said you created it, how can it be an original?! Unless you're the BBC of course.

Is it a DVD Video disc with a VIDEO_TS folder?

What WD player do you actually have? A WDTV?

They're dumb ISO players and don't have the ability to follow or play the proper structure/menus on a DVD Video disc. As such, there's no defined order.

ISO is a bad format for that playback device, stick to AVI/MKV or something similar.

If the ISO already contains a bunch of AVI/MKV files (which is what I'd assumed in my first post), name them properly.

i.e.

01 - some show.avi

02 - some show.avi

The player will play in alphabetical order.

It's a WD HD TV 1080p media player I use with a hard drive attached

I load the retail copy of the disk into the PC and these are the files it loads when I choose 'create image file from files/ folders':

(although I would normally choose 'create image file from disc')

They appear sequential! Could it be an issue with the media player instead?

Yes, it's the player.

Like I said, they don't do a great job of playing ISO files.

Why don't you try just putting those files in a folder and browsing to that on the player instead? Ok so it's not as neat but it might actually work properly that way! That said, I'm not sure if they even parse IFO files properly. Normally when you want to play a DVD you put it in a DVD player!

I assume the firmware on your WDTV is up-to-date? 1.03.01 is out now - http://www.wdc.com/wdtvprerelease/

We're waiting on a WDLXTV version based on 1.03.01, no doubt that'll come in a few days.
