Imgburn selecting mds file

I am trying toi burn a DVD. When I select the ISO file imgburn gives an error message that I should have selected the mds file. If I try to burn an DVD with the mds file it tells me the file is too large for the disc. Other iso files work without any issues. Any help would be appreciated.

Perhaps you need a double layer disc as you got a .mds file.
