imgburn slows down entire computer

Hello, I'm wondering what's wrong when every time I burn something using this program (version 1.2.0.0 i think it is) the computer becomes incredibly slow. It takes 30 seconds for me just to open firefox. My system is pretty new and I have 1 gb of ram so do you have any ideas as to what's causing it? I'm using windows xp mce btw.
