hestings Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 (edited) Just bought myself a LG BD burner. Model HL-DT-ST BD-RE BH08LS20 Burning and everything goes fine. But the finished disc is not playable ANYWHERE except for the burner who burnt it. I have tried 8 different standalones and 2 different BD writers. I did a firmware update and got what I now have. HL-DT-ST BD-RE BH08NS20 EL02. But nothing changed the result. Tried to close the disc, but an I/O error pops up and tells me: Cannot Write Medium - Incompatible Format. Also when playing it in GGW-H20L it says disc is empty. And when trying to burn, it says disc needs formatting. So GGW-H20L does not recognize that it has been burnt on at all. Just like when putting in a brand new disc for the first time. BTW: When burning to the same TDK and JVC discs with GGW-H20L everything work perfect. Result is playable in a standalone and PC. I have not tried any other BD media. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong here? Here's the log. I 11:57:35 ImgBurn Version 2.5.0.0 started! mmalves Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 Are you sure yours is a BH08LS20? It identifies itself as BH08NS20 Please confirm what's written in the label on the drive.

I'm sure. There was no firmware for LS and since NS basically is the same drive I just flashed it with NS. I lost the LightScribe during that prosess. But I knew that, and LightScribe was not important to keep. The burning result result was the same before I flashed it. Edited November 3, 2009 by hestings
LIGHTNING UK! Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 If it's doing a rubbish job on those MIDs (to the point where no other drive can read the disc), use something different.
