kmartcivic Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 So im trying to burn an ISO image. When I first tried on the bottom it kept saying (no reference position found). So I first switched the Mode to "Build" put everything on there I needed. Then switched the mode to "Write". It will start and then it stops. Here is my log below. Another thing I noticed is that even if I put a blank DVD into the drive and go to "My Computer", go to the drive it will say Free Space 0 bytes and Used Space is also 0 bytes. Could that be a problem with my DVD burner itself? I 17:16:30 ImgBurn Version 2.5.0.0 started! Its the original Burner that came with the computer. Works great for burning cds, this is the first time ive ever tried burning a DVD on this computer. And yes it is a DVD/CD Burner.
mmalves Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 Your burner doesn't like the media you're using. You can try a lens cleaning disc on it to see if it helps. You can also try with high quality media such as Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden blanks.
kmartcivic Posted November 3, 2009 Author Posted November 3, 2009 Thanks. I just ordered a new DVD burner. A couple weeks ago I loaded some music on my computer from a dvd and it worked fine. And today it won't even read it and the DVD icon in My Computer turns into CD drive. I think thats my problem.
mmalves Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 While you're at it also update your Windows XP to Service Pack 3.
