I have a cue sheet that contains .dts files that are supposed to be burned as waves.

When I burned this to a CD-R with ImgBurn it doesn't burn correctly. When I play it in a audio player (DVD player, PC, etc.) I get something that sounds like down-mixed poor quality 2-channel audio. It seems like ImgBurn modified the files before burning them.

Now, I did a test to make sure it wasn't the original files. I used CDRWIN to burn the same cue sheet and it burned the CD correctly.

Does anyone have any tips on this problem?

Here is the cue sheet:

PERFORMER "Eagles"
TITLE "Hotel California"
FILE "Eagles - 01 - Hotel California.dts" WAVE
 TRACK 01 AUDIO
   TITLE "Hotel California"
   INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "Eagles - 02 - New kid in town.dts" WAVE
 TRACK 02 AUDIO
   TITLE "New kid in town"
   INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "Eagles - 03 - Life in the fast lane.dts" WAVE
 TRACK 03 AUDIO
TITLE "Life in the fast lane"
   INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "Eagles - 04 - Wasted time.dts" WAVE
 TRACK 04 AUDIO
   TITLE "Wasted time"
   INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "Eagles - 05 - Wasted time (reprise).dts" WAVE
 TRACK 05 AUDIO
   TITLE "Wasted time (reprise)"
   INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "Eagles - 06 - Victim of love.dts" WAVE
 TRACK 06 AUDIO
   TITLE "Victim of love"
   INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "Eagles - 07 - Pretty maids all in a raw.dts" WAVE

Try changing the extension of your *.dts files and rename them to *.wav (and also make the appropriate changes to your cue file so it points to the renamed files).

Edit: Sorry, I spoke too soon, you don't have to rename the files after all (if you have a cue sheet)... I just tested it with a DTS-WAV file and it works fine. Are you using the latest version of ImgBurn?

Edit 2: Oh yeah, what it sounds like is not a very objective method of determining if the files were burnt correctly.

Instead, rip one of the tracks back to your hard drive in wav format, as you would a normal audio CD, then rename the .wav to .dts and look at the file properties in your player or a program like MediaInfo.

As you can see ImgBurn hasn't altered the file at all...

If you're still having problems please post a log of the burn.

Ok, so I tried this:

PERFORMER "Eagles"
TITLE "Hotel California"
FILE "Eagles - 01 - Hotel California.dts" WAVE
 TRACK 01 AUDIO
   TITLE "Hotel California"
   INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "Eagles - 01 - Hotel California.wav" WAVE
 TRACK 02 AUDIO
   TITLE "Hotel California 2"
   INDEX 01 00:00:00

I just wanted to see what would happen. I'm also using the latest version of ImgBurn.

This time it worked. Hmm... Strange.

I'll try to burn the original cue sheet and see it I can reproduce the error again.
