Playing discs on Samsung Blu Ray Player

Recommended Posts

I am having problems playing burnt discs on my stand alone blu ray player.

I am burning discs onto 25gb BD-R media which works fine, but the only thing i can get to work on the blu ray player is .mkv files, the player says it supports Divx, .mkv, .mp4 and AVCHD formats! Does the disc need manual finalizing?

I can browse the disc on the player but it doesnt play the movie.

Disc works fine on computer when played back so 90% sure it is a player issue but any help would be appreciated player is a samsung BD-P1600, LG Burner and LG-RE disc for testing.

It's a good burn + verify so the problem must be with the source file(s). Have you looked in the player's manual? Maybe it needs the video/audio in the mp4 to be of specific formats/codecs.

By the way, if you do a Full Erase on that BD-RE with spare areas disabled (it's an option in ImgBurn's settings) then you'll be able to burn that disc at its rated 2x speed.
