Mike H Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Help Please! I have successfully burnt several iso images to single layer DVDs (old Fujifilm DVD-R 4x)with my cross-flashed Lite-On 451S DVD R/RW. The information I recieved with the flash indicated that my drive would act as a Lite-on 432S and would then support double layer burning. I tried 2 different burns of a 7.8G iso using Verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4x blanks resulting in the same write error. The first burn I ran at 2.4, the second at 6x with the exact same result. Is this flashed drive really capable of DL burning? I will provide the firmware flash details below and the Imgburn log below it. Mike H Posted November 24, 2009 Author Posted November 24, 2009 Use a lens cleaning disc on that burner. If that doesn't help then try with the CG5M firmware. So close, yet .... Thank you for your good advice. I re-flashed the drive again, first back to stock 451S ( not sure if that was necessary or not), then flashed to CG5M firmware. I did take the unit apart and clean the lens with denatured alcohol and a microfiber optical cloth. While reassembling, I switched the burner to master and the CD burnig unit to slave. Within imgburn, I also increased the buffer size from 20MB to 80MB. I thought it was going to go through, but not quite. Any suggestions from the attached log? mmalves Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 If it isn't able to burn the best (and oldest) dual-layer media on the market then, in my opinion, the burner is as good as dead
