I've been having trouble with imgburn for awhile. When I try to burn an iso to a verbatim dvd-r disk, it runs fine until I get to the part where it says writing leadin. It stays on this part usually for about 2 hours until the actual burn process begins. I have daemon tools lite on my laptop, but I doubt it will be the issue since my computer has it too and the time it takes to burn is faster compared to my laptop. For my laptop, I have burnproof disabled, which I don't know if this would be one of the problems. I am burning the disk at a 2x write speed since the disk becomes choppy when reading when the image was burned at 4x speed. Also, I just updated my dvd driver with the newest firmware update.

Here are the logs:

Why did you disable BURN-Proof? Re-enable it, or better yet, hit the Defaults button and answer Yes.

Burn those blanks at 8x or 6x, and have the Verify option enabled.

If it doesn't work that way then use your other computer for burning because slim burners are rubbish. You could also try with Taiyo Yuden DVD-R blanks.

so it could be that my burner is at fault for the long burning process?

It's a possibility. When it hangs at writing lead-in, do you hear the disc spinning? Or the drive clicking/making noises?
