lovingreen Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 Hi, Ive gone through 20 DVDs in the last 2 days and cannot figure out why I can no longer burn DVDs with my burner. I have a I/O Magic 22X External DVD +- R/RW DL with lightscribe. I was able to burn a DVD using it just a week ago and since then cannot. Ive tried my desktop, my laptop, different USB ports, different USB cords, different blank DVDs (sony & HP), different blank Dvd types (-r, +r), and different burning programs (nero imgburn). Same damn problem- it says the device is not available. What is going on? How do I fix it? I am going crazy!!!! Here are my latest logs trying different ports and cords and different movies. Cynthia Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 Hi and welcome to the forum, lovingreen! This is your issue. Reason: The semaphore timeout period has expired. The USB connector lost connection with the burner. Same issue if you burn with a lower speed?

LIGHTNING UK! Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 You should probably give up and buy a different drive. If that one produces the same error on a desktop pc and a laptop, I guess the issue lies with the enclosure rather than anything else.
