jono Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 (edited) I am using Verbatim DL 2.4x discs. It burns the first layer just fine and then i get an I/O error at about 54% everytime on the second layer! I've ruined around 10 discs so far and I haven't changed any settings since it was working fine. Here is the Log from my last attempt: I 21:23:12 ImgBurn Version 2.4.3.0 started! jeff_nz Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 (edited) Slimline drives are notorious for being unreliable and some are worse than others, I assume this is a laptop burner? I 21:27:18 Destination Device: [2:0:0] TSSTcorp DVD+-RW TS-L632H D400 (E:) (ATA) Check your laptop manufacturers support website for downloads for your drive, there should be updated firmware available, which may help. I 21:23:12 ImgBurn Version 2.4.3.0 started! Also update ImgBurn while you're at it. Edited December 3, 2009 by jeff_nz

jono Posted December 4, 2009 Author Posted December 4, 2009 (edited) Thank you guys for your responses and i will update firmware and imgburn. However, as far as my issue is concerned, it turned out to be something so simple that I am kickng myself in the groin!! Like most problems i skipped right over the most obvious fundamental stuff that could be the problem and jumped straight into making it WAY harder than it needed to be. The Verbatim DL discs I have are actually 8x when i thought they were 2.4x!! I had my write speed setting set to 2.4 in Imgburn so when i changed it to 8x....no wories. Again thanks for the help tho!
