Burn DL DVD via Sata-->USB converter

Hi,

 

I recently bought a sata blu-ray burner and have it connected to my laptop's usb port via a sata-->USB converter. I tried burning a dual layer DVD using Nero but there was no way to tell Nero to use the drive--it only saw my laptop's internal DVD drive. Will this setup work with imgburn or will I be forced to install the drive internally in a desktop?

If the drive shows up in Device Manager then it should work fine with ImgBurn
