errors and problem with PS2 reading disc

Ok, I am trying to burn a video game iso to a Verbatim DVD + R disc. It is usually recommended I burn at 4X speed so as not to miss any data. However when the burn is complete and when it comes time to synchronize the cache and finalize the disc, I continually get errors. Here's my log:

I have tried again another time and got the exact same error. Also PS2 will not read the disc as a valid PS2 disc despite usuing the swap magic trick. Can anyone tell me what I can do to resolve the issue?

You won't 'miss' data by burning faster!

Try 8x. MCC-004 is normally excellent media. If anything, it's your drive letting you down.

Check with whoever made your laptop to see if there's a new firmware for it.

It's not so much that I would miss the data. But I guess what I was trying to say was that in the event that it does work, the game might be skippy since it was burned too fast. But anyway, I tried again at 8X and still no luck. And I checked for any firmware updates but there seem to be none.

Use the Verify mode to verify the burned disc against that ISO image.

Use a lens cleaning disc on that burner as it could help with your problem.

For some reason on the first few burn attempts while I still got the error it verified it just fine, although whenever I try and put it back into the drive the disc cannot seem to be detected. I also don't think it's that the burner is dirty as I could burn CDs just fine without issue.

I guess I'll try getting DVD - R discs and see if that helps, but if not then, I'll keep trying to figure out a solution somehow. I'm not giving up on this.
