CornOnMacabre Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 I've used ImgBurn for years without ever having a problem. Two days ago it would not burn a disc and I'd get a "timed out on logical unit" error. It appears to have a problem communicating with my dvd drive. I updated my version of imgburn and tried again with the same results. I am still able to burn discs with ConvertXtoDVD and other programs so I know my burner and drive are working properly. Can anyone please help me fix this issue with ImgBurn? I've copied the log below. Thank you!!!! I 20:37:36 ImgBurn Version 2.5.0.0 started! mmalves Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Your drive made a bad burn on that disc. Try burning at 8x or 12x to see if it works better. If you still get errors then you could try with Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks or maybe use a lens cleaning disc on that burner to see if it helps.

If you still get errors then you could try with Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks or maybe use a lens cleaning disc on that burner to see if it helps. I tried burning again at a different speed as you suggested and I received the same problem. I've used these Sony dvds with ImgBurn the entire time I've had ImgBurn and they have always worked before. Anything else I should try? Do you think it's worth getting a lens cleaning disc if I am able to burn with other programs? I'm going to be completely lost without my ImgBurn if i dont get this fixed!!!! haha Here is the log for my latest try with a diff speed I 18:51:56 Destination Media Sectors: 2,298,496 I 18:51:56 Write Mode: DVD I 18:51:56 Write Type: DAO I 18:51:56 Write Speed: 12x I 18:51:56 Link Size: Auto I 18:51:56 Lock Volume: Yes I 18:51:56 Test Mode: No I 18:51:56 OPC: No I 18:51:56 BURN-Proof: Enabled I 18:51:57 Filling Buffer... mmalves Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 If "other programs" don't perform the verify step as ImgBurn does then it isn't a fair comparison, is it? I think it's worth trying with Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks, and then a cleaning disc if they don't work. You could also crossflash the burner to its real SH-S203N model, but this would void your warranty and potentially brick (technical term ) the burner
CornOnMacabre Posted December 12, 2009 Author Posted December 12, 2009 I just uninstalled the program and then re-installed it. I then tried to burn a disc at 8x and got a completed burn! Not sure if it was by reinstalling the program or taking it to 8x but I'm happy it is working now! Thanks for your help mmalves!
