I have had this problem as long as i can remember, there seems to be a problem with the write rate it starts up then shortly after while doing a Lead In it starts to reduce writew speed until it becomes 0/0 speed. At first i thought it was media, then i thought it was the drive's firmware, which it still could be but im sure it isnt. Its a PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-112D firmware 1.15. Why update the firmware? i have already done this once in the last couple of months i was on 1.09 before and upgraded to 1.15. In IMGBURN for that Media it says it can support 4x speed. The only thing i can think of to do now is to RMA it. Its been a few year though since i first bought the drive, but its a pain that i cant burn CD's with it. Over the 2 or 3 years i have had the drive it has performed burning DVD-R's/+R DL's fantastically well.
