Hi, i am having problems burning images to CD-R's. I have had this problem as long as i can remember, there seems to be a problem with the write rate it starts up then shortly after while doing a Lead In it starts to reduce writew speed until it becomes 0/0 speed. At first i thought it was media, then i thought it was the drive's firmware, which it still could be but im sure it isnt. Its a PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-112D firmware 1.15. It works absolutely stockingly fine for DVD-R's and DVD+R DL.

Here's the log file of the error i get

Update the burner's firmware and try again at 16x.

Why 16x? Why update the firmware? i have already done this once in the last couple of months i was on 1.09 before and upgraded to 1.15. In IMGBURN for that Media it says it can support 4x speed. I thought slower burning is better?

Isnt there any settings i need to configure?

If it worked before with the same discs and speed and firmware - replace the drive with a working one. Sounds cheaper than updating the firmware and using a different speed.

You could try to enable OPC.

I 20:35:14 OPC: No

You could try to enable OPC.

How do i do this?

I have updated to newest PIONEER DVR-112D Firmware 1.28

still getting burning error

Here's the log file

I am stumped. The only thing i can think of to do now is to RMA it. Its been a few year though since i first bought the drive, but its a pain that i cant burn CD's with it. Over the 2 or 3 years i have had the drive it has performed burning DVD-R's/+R DL's fantastically well.

Are you using a brand new blank disc each time you try to burn? It's weird that the drive errors out at exactly the same spot with the same error message on all your burn attempts.
