I'm having trouble burning a Dual Layer DVD. I followed the guide on the forums, but I run into this error: Set L0 Data Zone Capacity Failed! - Reason: Power Calibration Area Error

I have googled this issue, and done as much trouble shooting as I can.

-Firmware

-Updated ImgBurn

-Burning at lower speed (2.4x, recommended)

-Disabling IMAPI (Windows 7 doesn't use this?)

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

You're in the wrong 'mode' for burning image files.

You want 'Write' mode - a.k.a. 'Write image file to disc'.

I 23:20:51 Destination Media Type: DVD+R DL (Disc ID: RITEK-S04-66) (Speeds: 2.4x, 4x, 6x, 8x)

Try burning at one of the other supported speeds, your drive might do a better job.

If that doesn't work, clean the drive with a cleaning disc.

If that doesn't work you can either buy a new drive that better supports the RITEK-S04-66 MID or you can buy better discs - http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000

Thanks for your reply!

I read on the guide to use the "build" mode for burning DL discs, as I was having trouble using the "write" mode previously. I tried it on the "write" mode again with the same results. I tried changing the burning speed to every compatible speed (2.4x, 4x, 6x, and 8x) with the same results as well. It's either the discs I bought, or the drive is dirty. No trouble in the past, but that doesn't mean much, as I have trouble now. I didn't see any of these infamous Verbatims at my local Fred Meyer, but I'll search around. And get my drive cleaned.

Thanks again!
