Problems burning music

Hi,

 

Hope you guys can help.

 

I've having lots of issues trying to create an audio disc.

 

I have a CD/DVD RW and can burn data onto a DVD with no problem but whenevr I try to get music onto CD that's whem things go wrong. I have numerous burning programs which I have tried but have not been able to burn a audio disc yet.

 

What info would you guys need in order to disgnose this problem? Whenever I try to burn a disc it manages to get so far and then it stops with some sort of error. Do I change my media (trying Maxell CDRs and Tescos own brand), flash my drive or has my ROM died?

Update your burner's firmware (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished) and try burning again. You might also want to try burning at 16x or 24x for a possibly better quality burn.

You have SB00... following in the naming scheme, that would make the latest for yours the SB02 one.

 

Download it, extract it if required, run the program.

Great stuff - that seemed to work!

 

The only thing that concerns me is that I burned the disc at 28% speed yet it took about 10mins to complete. While it was burning the drive would slow RIGHT down and then really speed up (seemed a lot smoother than this when the drive was functioning correctly).

 

Should I be concerned by this?

Why not post a log of the burn?

You are using Ritek discs, maybe the drive doesn't like them very much.

 

I don't use anything except Taiyo Yuden discs for CDs now.

Thanks for the reply.

 

I forgot to mention that the first test I performed after I updated the firmware was on another burning program >sorry<.

 

I've since tried it again on imgburn (at 48%speed) and everything seemed OK.

Looks like this problem hasn't gone away after all!

 

I tried burning a disc again. At first I got a I/O error and then I got this log here.

 

Any chance one of you fine gentlemen could look into this for me?
