LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Try burning faster. 8x or 12x. Buy better media - Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim. Try cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc. Install Vista SP2.
ortiz1275 Posted December 21, 2009 Author Posted December 21, 2009 First off I would really like to say Thank you so much for your hasty and to-the-point reply. Secondly, I apologize for not stating this earlier, but, I got the program to burn games, ( I heard it was the best), I had been burning wii games (making back-ups) since I got it and have backed up my entire collection (15 games), my point is, I'm doing Wii games, am I still able to do them at that speed, and what do you think may have caused this if all I've done were Wii games, and so many at that.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Speed isn't important, burn quality is. At 4x, your drive is producing coasters so you need to try something else. Like I said above, get some better media. RITEK are junk.
ortiz1275 Posted December 21, 2009 Author Posted December 21, 2009 Do you think this may have been caused from the fact that I have been burning to a cheaper (memorex disc) at 2x speed since day one?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 If you make your drive work harder (in both reading and writing - so this would apply to the drive in the Wii too) by using cheapo discs, you will of course shorten its lifespan.
