BoSox2882 Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 I use IMGBurn's read mode and think it is excellent. I just have a quick questions under the settings for read mode. Under 'image layout file' what do the CCD, DVD, and MDS boxes mean? I know IMGBurn defaults to MDS, which as I understand it just makes a dummy file to hold the layerbreak, so what do the DVD and CCD boxes do? I mainly use IMGBurn to read my dual layers dvds as it makes an exact copy of the original, including the original layer break. Thanks
mmalves Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 .dvd and .ccd are alternatives to .mds since not all programs where you can use disc images support the .mds type.
BoSox2882 Posted December 23, 2009 Author Posted December 23, 2009 Are they basically the same things as .mds files? Are there any benefits to using them?
mmalves Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Yes, they're basically all the same. I've set my ImgBurn to create all of them so that I can use the disc image with most programs
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 DVD and MDS are for DVD/HD DVD/BD. DVD is used by Virtual CloneDrive, MDS is used by DAEMON Tools. CCD and CUE are for CD. CCD is used by Virtual CloneDrive, CUE is used by DAEMON Tools.
