can't burn ISO my dvd drive must be trash

I have been trying to burn a dvd of proshow gold 4.0 for a long time now...I am about ready to throw the computer out the window....

Last month someone said to update the drives firmware, I did that and I was able to burn a dvd one time. I finished making the show and made it into two dvd's. So a month later I was ready to burn again,. kept getting I/o error, someone in the forum said to try verbatim disks...so I drove 100 miles to get them, now it says 'no medium' present- Verbatum DVD+R...My dvd drive is a lightscribe...it must be junk...I am at a loss for words, it cant be that hard to burn a dvd! This log is from a TDK disk, my drive won't even read the Verbatim. So you can see my frustration...
