LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Use a different disc (just a normal DVD-R or DVD+R rather than a rewritable), your drive is having touble with the one you're using there.

moir26786 Posted January 13, 2010 Author Posted January 13, 2010 Hello I still have not found out what sptd means and I tried lightning uks idea with both DVD-R + DVD+R and when I insert these discs into my laptop it does not read the discs it just says medium not present. When I use DVD+RW discs imgburn formats the disc straight away and burns on to it like normal but I keep getting the same error msg.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 If the drive can't see DVD-R or DVD+R then it's probably broken. Try cleaning it with a cleaning disc before you throw it in the bin though, just so you've covered all your bases. As for the SPTD thing... http://lmgtfy.com/?q=SPTD+can+have+a+detrimental+effect+on+drive+performance
