Is there anything i can do with the discs i have, other than just keep trying them until one works, that can save me some money of buying new ones?
mmalves Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 I 13:30:10 Destination Device: [5:0:0] TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H652L 0603 (D:) (ATA)I 13:30:10 Destination Media Type: DVD+R DL (Disc ID: RITEK-S04-66) (Speeds: 2.4x) Update your burner's firmware (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished) and try again. If it doesn't help then you could try cleaning the burner with a lens cleaning disc or getting a new burner that supports the dye used on those blanks. While you're at it you might want to take a look at this too

While you're at it you might want to take a look at this too Thanks, ill give that a try. I wanted to ammend some things real quick. I did get it to burn what i thought was a successful backup of my fifa 10 for xbox, it ran through the whole burning process fine and everything but i still cant get my sbos to recognise it. is this still an issue of "cheap" media or is there something else i could be doing wrong?
mmalves Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Did you Verify that burn? That's what actually tells you if the data on the burned disc is readable and matches the source image.

Turns out literally ALL of my issues were due to crappy media. i went out and bought some verbatim discs and have had no issues since, thanks everyone for your help, and for anyone reading, if youre having difficulties and youre using the cheaper media, trust me, you gotta spend the extra cash if you want good results.
