Colt112 Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 Hi. I've recently encountered a problem with burning .dvd files with imageburn. So I've read the topics about using verbatim, and verbatim only. Well, I do, and have now got the same problem with 3 dvd's, all brand new out of the case, and three different .dvd files. I've also tried burning at both 8x, 4x and 2x. Any ideas guys? I'm running out of ideas, please help me. Burn log: I 19:17:37 ImgBurn Version 2.5.0.0 started! Cynthia Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 The only speeds that are supported are these: (Speeds: 2,4x; 4x) Tried with a cleaning disc?
Colt112 Posted January 23, 2010 Author Posted January 23, 2010 cleaning disk? I'm a noob, It'd be great if you'd explain in detail
Cynthia Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 http://www.greenlightoffice.com/office/stationery/819206114-maxell-cd-340-cd-lens-cleaner.html
Colt112 Posted January 30, 2010 Author Posted January 30, 2010 will try, thanks So I tried with a lens cleaner, but again the burning failed at 48 %. I decided to try to update the firmware of my writer (Optiarc BD BC-5500S), but the flash failed.. every version! I really need some expert help, lol. Anyone? Any ideas?
Cynthia Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Was it the 1.77 version you tried to flash it with? Looking at the firmware you posted in the first log, it could be an OEM drive. You have also tried both the supported write speeds?
Colt112 Posted January 30, 2010 Author Posted January 30, 2010 (edited) Was it the 1.77 version you tried to flash it with? Looking at the firmware you posted in the first log, it could be an OEM drive. You have also tried both the supported write speeds? I tried to flash with every version from 1.04 through 1.06 and 1.77. I thought I'd break something, but actually, my last burn attempt worked! Used 4x speed. Is it necessary to verify disc? What is an OEM drive? Edited January 30, 2010 by Colt112
Cynthia Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Verify is nice if you want to know if the burn was good or nor. OEM is when the drive is sold under another name or the support is done by somebody else like Dell, HP.
Colt112 Posted January 30, 2010 Author Posted January 30, 2010 ok, yeah, it's probably an Acer OEM then Will let you know if it works in my xbox, although the firmware version still is the original (B2), atleast it got through the burning process.
