s7orm Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 I am trying to copy some dvds. I made images of the first 2 discs (maxell dvd-r). Now I am making copies of memorex dvd-r and with 2 different discs I get an unrecovered read error at 85%. Log file and picture of error attached. ImgBurn.log
Cynthia Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Looks like the burned discs were not good burns and now when you try to read them, some parts of the disc can't be read.
s7orm Posted January 24, 2010 Author Posted January 24, 2010 It appears it is having trouble reading a .BUP file. Since .BUP is a backup of the IFO file can I get away with not using it?
Cynthia Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Yes. Just copy the .ifo with the same name to a new .bup file. I think it's also easier just to copy the files from the dvd to your hard disk by just using Windows Explorer. That way you get away with the hazzle of splitting/mounting the iso when you perform the replace task. But from the posted logs - it looks like it's having issues with the video files also. \VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_4.VOB
s7orm Posted January 24, 2010 Author Posted January 24, 2010 Ya your right, the .BUP must be in the queue. In your experience if you ignore read errors can the video be acceptable?
Cynthia Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Ya your right, the .BUP must be in the queue. In your experience if you ignore read errors can the video be acceptable? Depends on how many. Mostly when you have a bad write - you have a lot of sectors in a row that can't be read. You will notice pixelations if there are more than a few in a row.
