opopopoo Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 It is a very good practice to test the own burn projects before doing the final burn. Just by burning to image file instead of to target optical media. One can verify if all stuff is working as it has to do it. If all is fine one can decide to do the final burn operation, burning to the target media. My burning suite I am using in the moment and I am looking a replacement for makes it difficult to do such tests in case of multisession CD/DVD. How does it work in ImgBurn? How would be the necessary process? Limitations?
mmalves Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 ImgBurn doesn't support multisession discs. If you can make your authoring program output to DVD-Video format (i.e. VIDEO_TS folder with IFO/BUP/VOB files inside) then you can use ImgBurn to create a disc image from that folder and test the created image by mounting it to a virtual drive (Virtual CloneDrive recommended).

I think it is very pity that so great piece of app as ImgBurn doesn't support multi-session. Multi-session data CD/DVD is a very useful facility. My question was in context of data projects. No idea where references to video stuff in your answer from. I though I had found replacement for my current burning suite, but unfortunately that's not the case.
Cynthia Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 The author hinted in another thread that multi session support is coming.
