I have verbatim dvd+R DL DVD's first off.

I have burned many single layer DVD's and now am moving on to the higher quality Dual Layers and am having some problems

When I burn the file using ImgBurn, the burn stopped at 57%. Thats quite interesting because this is about where I placed Layer Break.

The drive I am using is

Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-K17LF

Windows Vista

Everywhere has stated this drive will in fact burn dual layer dvds.

If you scroll down to the last 2 entries of this log, there are layers 0 and 1. I wonder if this is in fact, the 2 layers that are burning. It appears as if the problem persists with burning the "2ND" layer of the disc. From what Im gathering, it would appear as if the laser tried to move to the second layer and some how froze.

To summarize, I can still hear my drive operating, yet its been well over an hour that is has been frozen at 57% and itsnt moving. Im not sure what to do

Sounds like your burner doesn't like those blanks. Are they really Verbatim? From what we know they should have MKM-001-00 or MKM-003-00 dyes.

I just noticed they are in fact sony dl's and not verbatim. The wife put the sonys in the verbatim box!

My question is, do they really make that much of a difference?
