DVD won't play in WMP

I am delighted with Img Burn to date but have one issue. It produces a DVD which contains VOB files. The DVD in this format plays perfectly in my TV's DVD player, the main target, but I cannot play the DVDs in my DVD drive on my computer and so I cannot check them. In my file association settings I have VOB files set to play in VLC Media Player. However, when I click the drive to play it opens in Windows Media Player then won't play, showing "Unknown DVD". If I try to play the disk in the computer DVD drive by first opening VLC Player then opening a VOB file within the disk, it plays individual VOB chapters but won't play the whole disk. I would prefer to use WMP as my default. Can you advise what my problem is, please?

With VLC Media Player use the Open Disc feature and point it to your drive's letter.

 

For WMP there should be something similar that you can use to play it as a disc instead of the VOB files directly.
