I've been struggling with this for days, trying to weed through all the info that's already out there.

I can't seem to burn DVD's. I've been usings Verbs, +R and -R. The +R couldn't finalise ('incompatible medium' I believe). The -R can't verify. I've tried slowing down to 4x. I can't seem to find firmware info. Log below:

Could be the sign of a dying drive. Tried to use a cleaning disc?

not yet, I figured if it was the same problem over and over (about 10 discs now), a cleaning wouldn't matter. I guess I have nothing to lose...

The issue seems to be that it can't read the disc it just burned.

You are using nice discs and the burn is without errors so a cleaning disc might help.

I once had a drive that couldn't read the discs and it gave up totally some days later.

I blew my drive with my compressor, installed the new version and burned a -r fine at 4x. So it was one of those things - thanks for the tips...
