lb_billy Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 I've been struggling with this for days, trying to weed through all the info that's already out there. I can't seem to burn DVD's. I've been usings Verbs, +R and -R. The +R couldn't finalise ('incompatible medium' I believe). The -R can't verify. I've tried slowing down to 4x. I can't seem to find firmware info. Cynthia Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Could be the sign of a dying drive. Tried to use a cleaning disc?
lb_billy Posted February 12, 2010 Author Posted February 12, 2010 Could be the sign of a dying drive. Tried to use a cleaning disc? not yet, I figured if it was the same problem over and over (about 10 discs now), a cleaning wouldn't matter. I guess I have nothing to lose...
Cynthia Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 The issue seems to be that it can't read the disc it just burned. You are using nice discs and the burn is without errors so a cleaning disc might help. I once had a drive that couldn't read the discs and it gave up totally some days later.

Cynthia Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Tried with the latest version 2.5.0.0? I 13:24:29 ImgBurn Version 2.4.4.0 started!
lb_billy Posted February 12, 2010 Author Posted February 12, 2010 I blew my drive with my compressor, installed the new version and burned a -r fine at 4x. So it was one of those things - thanks for the tips...
