logitendo Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Sony 7240s firmware 1.03 After a Dual Layer iso burn, will not verify at higher than 3x. Also I cannot burn at 2.4x anymore with this new drive. Only 4x lowest. My old Pioneer 216D burned at 2.4x and verified at above 8x. So what gives with this new 7240s? Always use Verbatim MKM-003-00.
Cynthia Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Most new high speed burners don't allow for lower speeds these day. It's a restriction in the firmware of the burner so you can't do anything about it. Lowest speed is not always the best speed to use. I have the same drive and 6x with that media gives me the best results. The low verify speed is due to a bug in the current version of ImgBurn for that particular drive. It sets the verify speed to the same as you selected as the write speed. Next version will get you up to speed.
